Our trekking in Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego really takes place at the very edge of the earth. We will go to this amazing area, disturbing our imagination since childhood, when we read out the novel “Children of Captain Grant.” Here we will see giant glaciers and fjords, powerful waterfalls and azure lakes, deserts and pristine forests, wild horses, flamingos, condors, penguins. The mountains of Patagonia are some of the most beautiful on earth, and the local towns are full of Antarctic polar explorers and adventurers. A trip to Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego is a journey into a completely different world, another dimension hidden in the far corners of the planet. And we are ready to spend money to get here and understand that the world is not limited to the vicious circle of “home-work-home”. Perhaps true life is here …
Day 1. Buenos Aires
The meeting with the instructor and the whole group takes place in a hostel in Buenos Aires. Today is dedicated to gathering groups and sightseeing in the capital of Argentina.
Day 2. Ushuaia – Tierra del Fuego
By plane we fly to the island of Tierra del Fuego in the town of Ushuaia. This is the southernmost city on the planet – the Argentines call Ushuaia not only the “end of the world”, but also the “gateway to the Antarctic.” Antarctic expeditions start from here. Check in at the hotel and explore the city. We will visit the museum of the penal colony, thanks to which the city arose. Take a boat trip along the Beagle Channel, where you can see cormorants, sea lions and other animals.
Day 3. Tierra del Fuego Nature Reserve
Visit the Tierra del Fuego Nature Reserve, where you can see the unique forests of Tierra del Fuego and take a simple walk along the local trails. Along the coastline we will go further along the most picturesque paths. Let’s climb one of the mountain ranges. From a height, we will have a view of the whole of Ushuaia and the Cordillera Darwin mountain range.
Day 4. Penguin Island
In the morning we go to the Martial Glacier, which is located directly above the city. After 10:00 we take a bus and move to a small fishing village on the banks of the Beagle Channel. On a boat we sail to the island where penguins nest. We can even walk among these hilariously touching birds. Several species of penguins live here, for example, Magellan and Emperor. In the evening – a visit to the restaurant, where you can taste the famous crabs.
